Newb Support Unit Question

I've been watching Strategy Gaming Dojo's videos, and I understand he's not around much these days, if at all. In his SU video (Basic Tutorials playlist), he recommends sending all SU's up to OKH (or other High Commands).

Why would I want to send the R.A.D. & O.T. units up the chain? AIUI. these units need to be under the control of HQ's located near hexes in need of repair. Or, am I completely misunderstanding what's going on with those units?

Thanks in advance,
Rake

SGD was very good explaining complex games, but he had a kid and has exchanged trucks stuck in mud for poop and pampers.

I recommend the following starter guides (they are also less verbose):

Yes, you can attach "*O.T.*" and "*R.A.D.*" to an HQ. I find some CORP commander who is loser and take his divisions and regiments. You can move the HQ around and they will work in a 5 hex radius, but I think you will need to lock SUs for that HQ or they could move.

(1) Be advised that they only seem to auto repair single track lines. But this is good ... think of your logistics as a TCP/IP network and this gives packets (freight) many paths. They are very good at repairing the spur lines to major air field bases.

(2) If you also pick up WITW, be advised that if you strip them from their FBD in WITW, the FBD becomes incapable of repair. (different mechanics)

To answer: you might want them to have a range of 15 hexes (of an Army HQ).

Good hunting.

They will repair double. You basically just have to position each turn to try and get the hexes you want

never ever remove any kind of contruction unit from FBD or NKPS, they can't be sent back

So, do you get more total construction that way? I have been curious about that but I am not as serious as Wiedrock to run scientific experiments?
