Possible game option problems and next beta

We have confirmed that some players may run into problems with some of their game options changing mid-game. This could happen if players owned the game prior to 1.04.00 and have since upgraded to a later version. Specifically, we were able to confirm a case where the game balance country national morale bonuses changed after an MP game was created. This could happen when an existing wargame.dat file was corrupted when the player upgraded to 1.04.00 or a later version. We do not think this issue is limited to Multiplayer server games, as we think it might happen in PBEM and other games. The situation is rare, but we cannot say exactly how rare it might be. We suggest players do the following:
1) On the 2nd player’s first turn, or later, check the game options screen while in each game to see if they match those that were set at the start of the game. If they do not, it is too late to change the settings. The game displays the game option settings that are in use in the current game.
2) We suggest you hold off starting a new MP or PBEM game until the next beta is released, which is expected next week. If you do start a new game, follow point 1 above to check to make sure your game is not being impacted by the issue.
The next beta will fix existing wargame.dat files so that any new games created should be safe from this problem, but it will not fix existing games that have been impacted by it. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and are working hard to try to fix this issue as soon as possible.
