Hi developers,
There is a severe fuel consumption / database bug with the SSM Plt (FP-5 Flamingo GLCM) -- Ukraine [1992-] (Army), 2026 (DB3K v519) in Version 1.10, Build 1900.18. The missile is completely broken and cannot even reach a mid-range target.
The Issue:The target was located 255 nm from the launcher, well within the missile's advertised maximum range of 1,620 nm. However, the missile completely ran out of aviation fuel and self-destructed halfway through the flight.
Flight Log Data:
Launch time: 23:41:17
Self-destruct time (out of energy): 23:58:39
Total flight time: 17 minutes 22 seconds (exactly 1,042 seconds).
Speed: 459 kts (Cruise).
Actual distance covered before crash: ~133 nm.
Database Math Analysis (Based on the attached viewer screenshot):According to the DB Viewer for this unit:
- Under Band 1, Cruise Speed (0 - 12000 ft), the Fuel Consumption is set to an astronomical 13.47 fuel points per second.
- During its 1,042-second flight, the engine consumed: 1,042 sec * 13.47 points/sec = 14,035 fuel points, completely draining the tank.
- To reach its advertised 1,620 nm range at 459 kts, the missile needs to stay airborne for 12,76 seconds (3.53 hours). At the current consumption rate of 13.47 points/sec, it would require a total fuel capacity of 171,150 fuel points!
Conclusion:
There is a clear mismatch between the missile's fuel tank capacity and its seconds-based burn rate (13.47 fuel points per second is way too high for a standard cruise speed on a turbofan engine, or the total fuel capacity value in the unit file was not updated proportionally).
I am attaching a screenshot and the scenario save file (.sav) to help you reproduce and analyze the bug. Please fix the fuel consumption rate or the fuel capacity for the FP-5 Flamingo GLCM in the next DB update. Thank you!
Thank you!
