According to the exception log, you are not running Command as administrator. Can you try running it as administrator ?

FYI, Edit Scenario and Load Saved Game give the same error too.

As per your thread, Dimitris, on the Steam Discussions i rebooted my PC (it already had the latest updates) and then CMO was getting stuck on the Loading screen. I completely deleted CMO and reinstalled it. It's still hanging at the Loading Screen but there is a lot more info in the Exception Log (see attachment)

Ok, I got around the hanging at the Load Screen (totally forgot about the Launcher, I've been bypassing that for the last couple years.)

I still can't load any Scenarios. Here's the Exception Log when trying to load a scenario:

Thanks for tip. .Net is good about updating if an app needs a specific version.
I did check though, and I have 4.8.1 of .net framework, and versions 3.1.32 through 10.0.12 of .net (core).

...and this morning I'm back to the loading screen getting hung up and not loading the Main UI with these in the Exception Log:

Another trial and error suggestion.

Back up and delete the Command.ini file located in the "\Config" folder.

CMO will generate a new one when you restart it.

This update works fine on my laptop. I compared the Exception Logs on my laptop (working fine) and desktop (failing to load) and noticed all the messages are the same except when my laptop message states "License: Command full version" my desktop spews out the 2 "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" messages as seen above.

So, something related to Steam licensing.

Can you check if there is a file called steam_appid.txt inside the installation folder on Steam?

If no such file exists, can you create it and write inside it this number: 1076160
Then save it, close it and try starting Command.

I do have that file with the right content in it. Tried recreating it, but no change in behaviour. Still not working.

I did a complete reinstall yesterday, but I'll try again with a complete reboot after uninstall and before install. Not sure what else to try.

Is it not this line where the error happens in most of the exception logs? However it is not always at the same moment.

"Configured MainForm working area"

"License: Command full version" Happens after that one.

Dxdiag file, something related with CMO in it?

Probably a long shot, but: Apply all Windows updates and restart your machine.
