Question to Bill/Hubert about decision scripts

My global question is that : Does program keep in memory all answer to decisions (including dummy decisions) after the turn where the decision was taken ? (Whether the answer to the decision is yes or no, never mind)

Or does the program “forget” what was decided in previous turns ?

In other terms : when the program does find “#link=” in a script, do “link” do only reference to decisions taken in same turn, or do “link” do reference to decisions taken in same turn AND/OR in previous turns ?

In detail :

1° EXAMPLE : Supposing a decision script set with type 1 (attempting to fire each turn, but firing only 1 time when conditions are ok)

a/ First situation : In turn 1, the decision script does fire and decision answer is “yes”, and this “yes” does trigger a script “effect” type 1 (script occurring 1 time, but attempting to fire each turn) : What will happends in turn 1, 2, 3 etc ?

b/ Second situation : In turn 1, the decision script does fire and decision answer is “yes”, and this “yes” does trigger a script “effect” type 2 (reoccuring check script and reoccuring firing script) : What will happends in turn 1, 2, 3 etc ?

2° EXAMPLE : Supposing a decision script set with type 2 (reoccurring check and reoccurring fire each turn when condition are ok)

a/First situation : In turn 1, In turn 1, the decision script does fire and decision answer is “yes”, and this “yes” does trigger a script “effect” type 1 (script occurring 1 time, but attempting to fire each turn) : What will happends in turn 1, 2, 3 etc ?

b/ Second situation : In turn 1, In turn 1, the decision script does fire and decision answer is “yes”, and this “yes” does trigger a script “effect” type 2 (reoccuring check and reoccurring fire if conditions are ok) : What will happends in turn 1, 2, 3 etc ?

This script system is a fascinating and efficient tool, but It opens up abysses of logic beneath our poor modder's feet

It does remember, unless the Decision is a Type= 2, in which case it will only count in that turn.

Ok, thanks for clarification : Cool and interesting system

If I understand correct : (needed because my understanting of english is poor  )

FIRST :

In my example N°1
(decision of type 1) : the effect scripts will always “survive” to the decision that did trigger them, even they do not fire at the same turn than this decision :

In case of “effect script” of type 1 : the effect script will attempt to fire each turn, and when condition will be ok, it will fire one unique time, and after that no more fire. The “time limit” of this script will be the turn where it’s condition will be ok to fire : at this turn, it will fire and “die”.

In case of “effect script” of type 2 : the effect script will attempt to fire each turn, and if conditions are ok, it will fire each turn : this effect script will work “without time limite” = until the end of game (in other terms : “immortal” script).
Would be interesting to find a scripting way/tip to "stop" this "immortal script", under some conditions (by another script decision, or another way). If script specialists have any idea or tip... ?

SECOND :

In my example N°2
(decision of type 2) : the decision will be forgotten by program after the turn it did fire, so the “effect scripts” triggered by this decision will (eventually) be able to fire at the same turn of the decision, but they will not fire any more after the turn where the decision did fire : they will not “survive” to the decision that did trigger them if they do not fire in the same turn than decision that did trigger them.
They will "survive" to the decision that did trigger them only if they fire at the same turn than the decision that did trigger them

In particular :

=> If the effect script is a type 1 script : it will attempt to fire at the same turn than the decision that did trigger it. If it have success, it will fire ; if not, it will "die" (and will never work in later turns).

=> if the "effect script" is a type 2 script : it will attempt to fire each turn and will fire each turn if conditions are ok, but under one condition : to have started to fire at the same turn than the decision that did trigger it. Is this corretc ? If it did fire at the same turn than the decision that did trigger it, nothing will be able to stop it after, in later turns (it's just my interpretation).

Or will this effect script type 2 be also "forgotten" after the turn where it was triggered by the decision of type 2, even it did fire in the same turn of this decision ?

In all ways, this script system is a really interessant way to manage neurones

I think it will be forgotten, as it is only firing because of an earlier Decision, that is being reset at the end of every turn.

Ok, thanks, it has also a certain form of logic

Are the other parts of my interpretation ok ?

Yes, they looked fine to me.
