...even though original disk is in the drive. Another XP user (pkpowers) reported that this problem was fixed by addition of "debug files." Does anyone have info about how to obtain this fix?

Hi

This error may mean the CD is bad but to make sure try the CD in another PC if that is the option for you and be sure.

Yes, the program installs and runs on a friend's machine. Apparently, the CD is fine.

New exe didn't work for me. Just got a different error message:

"You must be a local administrator to run this program"

Any other ideas?

Are you running 2000 or XP?

If so...make sure you have admin privlages

I'm running Windows 2000. For reasons too involved to go into here, I don't wish to run w/ admin priviledge. And, it makes no sense to me that that should be a requirement. After all, KP is not an admin utility, and none of my other programs make such demands.

Thanks for the tip regardless.

This Original CD behavior, which I suffer from as well but on a Sony Portable, is the result of copy protection and non-standard CD player drivers. Unfortunately, for Matrix Games and me, I cannot play Korsun Pocket when I want to (on travel), where I want to (on my portable) and must therefore rethink my purchase.

OK, out of desperation set up my user account to have admin privs.
Still no go. Unstalled, reinstalled, nope, same problem.
