I have tested it and indeed it works, the expendable decoys are used and the number of them is reduced.

However the AN/ALE-70 itself is working independently, is it not not like the mount or the name of the whole system?

In this The Aviationist page is explained, only 4 towed decoys not 8. It is also said that the F-35 does not use Chaffs, only Flares.

In the TWZ is said, quoting an official document:

“F-35 COUNTERMEASURES: Includes all unique countermeasures that provide self-protection for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft, specifically ALE-70, MJU-68, MJU-69 and CCU-168. In addition to F-35unique countermeasures, MJU-61 and MJU-64 are also used for F-35 self-protection.”

MJU and CCU, all seems to be related with flares.

In the Unit Weapons should appear, listing only the countermeasures, not the weapons.

- 4 AN/ALE-70(V)T-1687
- 8 Generic Flare Salvo

Chaff and AN/ALE-70 FOTD removed.

Is this correct?
