Install problem on my laptop

Greetings all,

I am at the beach and before leaving installed UV on my wife's laptop (she is just tickled, by the way). However, when I went to play by clicking on the desktop icon, got the following message: c:matrixgames\Uncommonvalor\uncommonvalor.exe--the system cannot find the file specified

I then opened up the program files and tried to start the game through there and got the following messages

"c:\matrixgames\uncommonvalor\uncommonvalor.exe--a device attached to the system is not functioning-the uncommonvalor.exe file is linked to a missing export ddraw.dll:directdrawcreateex"

I have a gateway laptop, PII, 64 MB ram. I tried to reinstall but no go. Any ideas?

Hi, Does that computer have direct x on it? (I think you need version 8.0)

Thanks Mogami,

That was the problem. I don't think that direct x had been updated on the laptop since the Carter administration. It works fine now, just slow as molassas.
