AAR: vonGarvin (German) vs TDV (Soviet)

Well, the war is on. No "major" battles, but there were huge advances as the Panzers drove North, East and South into the USSR. The battle was initiated by the Luftwaffe making several strikes against Soviet airfields, to great effect. Too early to tell if the battles of encirclement will work out. Of course I'm doing other stuff, behind the lines, but I won't be telling about that until it's no longer important

Here's the very first casualty report. Enjoy!

Well, here's the screen shot of the casualties first phase (Germans) of the 22 Jun 41 turn. Not many head on head battles, just lots of deep thrusts into the Soviet lines, with a view to encircling Soviet armies. At best count, some 20 Soviet armies are either surrounded or in grave danger of being surrounded. Noteworthy events: Riga is in Axis hands and West Front HQ was overrun by a Panzer Korps. Finland has joined the Axis, and are calling this "The War of Continuation", obviously a reference to the winter war of 1940.

Well, my deep thrusts into the USSR resulted in my own Panzer units cut off, but in no real danger. His units are still close to the border, my panzers were resupplied from the air, and are preparing to thrust again into the hinterland. The infantry units are closing up, closing the gaps, and in the process captured in excess of 600 enemy tanks in one engagement alone South East of Lemskau (Lwow). This also resulted in another two Soviet armies trapped along the border with the Reich. The following is the up to date casualty report:
