NEW UPDATE TO SPWaWSG AT TANKHEAD'S SITE!

Hello Everyone!
Scott Grasse sent me a new update on Steel Panthers Scenario and Battle Setup Guideline V1.04. You will find the update on my Main page.
SPSG!
Welcome to Steel Panthers: World at War Battle Setup Guidelines (SPWAWSG or SPSG for short). This utility allows players to setup historical and realistic combat formations for SPWAW. Important information on using the tables can be found in the SPWAWSG1.2.doc. The original concept for this utility began in 1998 and was designed for use with SP: Squad Leader - a modified squad level version of SP3 that was the launching point for SPWAW.
There are several items in this package including:
Word.doc v. 1.04
Windows Help file v. 1.04
Word.doc v. 1.2
Excel.xls v. 1.2
Windows 95/98 v. 1.2 (it has not been tested on Windows ME or NT that we know of but should work just fine).
Differences from 1.04 to 1.2 include:
· The addition of historical country matchups for all periods of WWII.
· Typo and bug corrections.
· Intelligence reports were removed in 1.2.
Please note that the documentation files were written before SPWAW was completed, and some things may apply differently to SPWAW (the setup boundaries for example do not take the new large maps into account). Most contact information in the .docs is no longer valid. Unfortunately, we do not provide tech support for SPWAWSG. Please use the SPWAW forums found on various web pages for discussions and support.
Windows version
All the aspects of the .doc version of SPWAWSG v1.2 have been incorporated into the Windows version. However, please note that purchase point adjustments made based on a country's moral and experience are generated using SP3 country values which may have slightly changed in SPWAW.
We suggest using 1.04 as a reference to generate ideas for supplying intelligence reports to your opponent, or to use the handy quick-reference format of the Help file (but be aware that some minor updates will not be in the 1.04 versions).
We also highly suggest you view the v. 1.2.doc versions. This will give you a strong understanding of how the forces are being generated. Note that the SPSG generates historical country matchups and realistic force compositions. Although some parameters can be changed in SPSG (such as country, date, battle type, etc.) some things cannot. In this case, the .doc files will help you generate your custom battles.
Thanks for playing!

Jon Johnson - Computer concept and design
Please note that his utility is an independent project and is not affiliated with or supported by Steel Panthers products, SSI, Matrix Games, or The Gamers Net in any way. Steel Panthers and Steel Panthers: World at War are protected under appropriate copyright laws.
Have a great day
