Why don´t close this forum for some month and reopen it when the game is close to be finished - if at all...always the same questions and the same lack of answers
StCyr
Sorry to hear that.

I beg to differ. As one has been pretty critical about Matix and the lack of answers, I must say that I've recieved my answers quite nicely. I'm content right now to support Matrix and wait. Bart has answered the questions of others too and I have learned much from them. Just remember that he does the best that he can.
Have you tried to address your questions to Bart? Have you tried to address them in a way that requires a simple answer?
With the board remaining open, Matrix hears our concerns and feelings about different subjects relating to this game. When we voice an opinion, we don't know if the opinion is thought highly of or not. We don't have to. We still get to voice it and that is what matters because you do not know how important an expressed idea can be. Just by sharing your feelings on a subject, you can give a perspective to the developers that will help them to find the missing link (so to speak) that solves a persistent problem that they might be having. You just don't know. Stranger things have happened in the history of problem solving.
No, I think that it would be a monumental mistake to close this board. I am willing to bet that Matrix feels the same way. Besides, friends can be made in the mean time.

Heck, just go ahead and start a thread about your favorite aspect of the Napoleonic wars and see what happens.
Or if it bothers you so much, you can always just go away for a month and then come back and read all the threads and postings that you missed.

Ditto. We must acknowledge that since Bart stepped in on the forum the responsiveness has increased 100fold. Thanks for that.
There are still questions open and Bart can probably address most of them.
It is however still very unclear what kind of timing we will see on a release. A more firm indication would be great. "Released when ready" doesn't really give any clue. Maybe we could get an estimate on level of completion for initial release in percent. Is it 50%, 75% or 99% ready. Estimate only!

I think that you're missing St. Cyr's point. The comments I have seen here, though apparently well meaning, have no relevance to the design of the game that will be released. It's going to be what those building it say it will be. No suggestion I have seen has been commented on by the designers as something that will be incorporated into the first version of the game.
All we can do is wait for the result, which will either please us or p1ss us off.

I disagree with StCyr. As strategic wargames are getting harder and harder to find, I think it's important that there is some hope out for us. I love Napoleonics, too and it seems that Matrix is the only one out there who hasn't forgotten us Grognards. Thanks Matrix...by thge way...do you ship to Australia?

Let me say I find the idea of closing the forum a silly idea. With that said lets see if we can help get a better answer to your questions. Please post them here and we will look into them trying to get some answers.
Many of the changes and suggestions have been put into this game. In fact we have pushed back the release date in order to put some of those features in the game. We have also been able to explain why some things were done.
The purpose of these forums is to try to get the game the way we both want and make you our customers happy. If this is not trying to put the customer first then I do not know what is.
Keep up the good work

So what does "pushed back the release date" mean? Where are we now for release date?
Guys, Shut up and stop coming forward with ideas or we will never get this game:)

My thanx. As I mentioned when I popped into this forum I will do my best to make sure all of your questions are answered. There are some that are still outstanding, my apologies. But, development is our first priority and I canno justify taking the time away from development to get to some of your questions. As best I an answer them I will respond. My head has been on getting the game put together.
I can tell you we are in beta testing and wehave uncovered a number of things that we feel we need to address. While none of them are life threatening, they are important and it takes time to get to them. To touch on what David added, we will not release it before we are ready. Part of what I want to acheive with Matrix is to make sure that we do are best to stay within a schedule. But, the game development industry almost never hits dates. Thus, I do not want to give you any information without being sure about it. I am working on a release plan for this game, however, I cannot give a firm date...yet. Give me some time to get you this.
Carry on...and keep the questions coming.
