Greetings,

Thanks to some interesting discussions going on at the CM forums, I've decided to give this game a thorough run-through and get proficient with it. There seems to be a lot of potential here -- airforces, technology, economic management, large scale strategy... wow. Cool stuff.

Now, I've played it through as the Axis vs. the AI and I admit as soon as the blizzard kicks in, my forces virtually evaporate. I've tried pulling back and/or stopping early and digging in -- it helps. But I'm far from winning. I'm only managing the forces on the ground and leaving the airforce and economy alone for now. I think the AI is controlling my factories.

Is there a relatively comprehensive tutorial or strategy guide for the game? I know there are some knowledgeable players here. Please help me out!

The AI is pretty dumb (not trying to knock you) there are lots of little "cheats" and startedgies you can use

The AI gets terribly easy to beat after about your 3rd time through so you have to move on to human players

Try this for a strategy guide (just skip the house rules until you decide to play against people), it's not very comprehensive but thr best available I think. These hints from www.grognard.com are also interesting but very outdated (version 1 I think) so you should take them with a grain of salt. Oh, and don't ignore the pdf manual coming with the game (which is also very old) and the readme.txt which documents the changes through various versions.
