Small patch to have 96 turns per battle!

Hi Guys,
I haven't posted in awhile, work has been pretty heavy, i am actually in the mobile gaming industry so after a long day of work, i don't play much when i get back home.
This weekend i got pretty mad at the fact that u spend hours fighting hard battles facing superior ennemy forces (I'm always Axis) setting up pockets and traps when all of a sudden, no more turns!!! I like my battles long and deadly, either I wipe the russians or they wipe my forces!
So i wrote a small app that sets the number of turns to 96 turns for any scenario. THIS DOES NOT MODIFIY THE ORIGINAL SCENARIO. You simply apply this patch on your saved game. For example you can choose the 48 turn KP scenario, save on your first turn, patch the savedgame file and play until 96 turns! ex : KP longGame.sav will change the number of turns from 48 to 96.
I tested it on KP scenarios and Ardenne. Thought i'd share it with people who feel the same way.
Enjoy!
Adonis
(Needless to say : make a backup copy of your savedgame file before patching...no one knows...)

I assume this patch only increases the number of turns in the game - it doesnt extend the objectives active periods? Replacements, Weather, supply etc?
Exactly!

Right on Rob, this app only increases the number of turns for any savedgame to 96 turns, which is what i was looking for, so i wrote it for me, thought maybe someone else would like the same thing...

OK, are there any limitations as to when you can run the patch? I assume not, for example can you save your game on the last turn and then run it? I figure you can.

In theory there should be no limitations, BUT i only tested it by starting a new game, saving on the 1st turn, applying the patch, and then reloading the game to play.

Make a backup copy of your file with your last turn, and test it.

Great Adonis, I'm with you, like a longer game too. I'm computer illiterate, so what happpens on the first turn of the patch? Does the AI stop moving units? does the weather stay the same as last game turn?

Whilst this patch will extend the turns in the game, it is not the proper way of doing it.. as you point out secret - there will have been no proper AI programmed for those turns, also no weather data, nor interdiction and off board barrage support etc.. not to mention reinforcements or replacements..

Maybe the folks at Matrix could go ahead and put the option in when a game would normally end to go ahead and continue until you feel like stopping.
Seems like it would be a fairly easy thing to add in a future patch.

Aboslutely right Rob, The fact that only the number of turns has been altered leaves u with no reinf/supply/interdiction starting by turn 49!!!
It would theoratically be possible to look deeper into it, but i have no time for that.
At least the game does not crash and the BATTLE GOES ON! I can definitely annihilate the remaining soviet armies using my understrength units hehehe

SSG would need to do that not Matrix.. Matrix are only the publisher and have nothing to do with coding the designing the game.
Its not that easy to do this.. if you wanted to make it worthwhile playing on, the AI, supply, weather, Reinforcements, Replacements, objectives etc would all need to be coded into the game to make it 'challenging' - and that is alot of work.
if you want to continue playing on after the game has ended then I would suggest you use the Adonis' patch. Just be aware of the limitations. I dont want to underrate his patch, it does what he designed it to do.
