This is a continuation of a thread started about a year ago. Kerry of NewZealand(Russia) has somewhat won the WIR 3.2 game. I say somewhat as Mike is still awaiting news of the WIR 3.2 South and West front equations for failure. The germans failed to hold the south in first clear weather 43. The bigger issue in that game was Mike's lack of knowledge of defending German industry against USAAF. It appears if one has even one fighter training at any other airbase somewhere in Germany from where the air defence CAP is stationed....then the double range defence no longer applies. ergo no air defence against USAAF. curtains!

The WIR 3.3 game is much more balanced. Russian artillery and air losses are a multiple of what they were in wir 3.2 . This may be somewhat due to Mike's awareness of WIR 3.2 Russian unused fighters that were obsolete by 43, and
effort to do more artillery attacks by Mike. Mike had not used the Yak7B and this may be hurting the Russians relative to Germans as well. ie. less German air "killed" due to lower gunnery. One would think that the higher continuous Russian "experience" would tell. Sadly, no. The Yak1 has a low defence value...and dies relatively easy.

The Russians got within 3 hexes of Leningrad and about 4 hexes of Moscow. Kharkov/Stalino was never captured. I believe that Bryansk was captured. Movement of the Leningrad Heavy Factory to Urals reduced that 20 factory to 5! after movement.

The house rules and turn by turn commentary are provided in the zip wordpad attachment. Sorry, no map pictures. I still haven't got the hang of getting a picture from the game to another word document.

hopefully, the attachment mechanism worked. All previous attachments to my posts have now been removed.

cheers all.
