In one of my first SPWAW I played a Hungary force in a city fight against a Russian opponent in 44. As a beginner I really led my troops stupidly and lost the game rapidly. I did the same thing in a scenario, I don’t remember the name, where I played the Rumanians against the Hungary at the end of the war, when the Rumanians fought with the Russians. And this time again I lost the game. Those two defeats didn’t occur because of the bad quality of my troops, but because I didn’t know how to lead them, trying to play them as if they were the Germans or the Russians.
So I would like how I have to lead this armies, the Rumanians, the Italians… Have you some advice ?

it's best to hit the F9 key before turn three when playing either of these...since playing longer than that puts your monitor in jeparody of being smashed by your fist or any other heavy object you may have near your PC.

When playing a force with a tech/morale disadvantage, you have to "move aggressively and fight defensively" (I can't remember what SPWAW sage said that ... ) Lay traps and let them come to you, move your infantry very slowly and retain a mobile reserve to exploit opportunities. Vs the AI this will work extremely well ... but against a human it's a little more difficult Many of the minor nations have a fragile morale, so you can't be overly aggresive on the attack... be patient and examine their OOB's carefully, often there is some hidden treasure in there ... You will probably still lose, but at least you have the morale advantage of fighting as the underdog ... and no victory is sweeter than that !

Yes, it is the feel I had. I should have been more cautious, and wait the good time.
The only problem is in defense against a "stronger" army (my Hungarians against my Russian's opponent) : have they a chance ?
