Web site help and plans

A little while back I was going to do a newsletter, but knowing me I needed to back out of something that had "deadlines". I decided to do a web site which I could do at my own pace. This I did only to find out the service I picked didn't allow me to upload any files other than pictures. I changed hosts which allows any old file type I want. The problem here is tha site builder is junk. I would like to use Front Page Xpress that comes with windows. The problem here is I've not getting very far with it and have a thousand questions. I'm hoping someone has the time and knowledge to coach me.
This site will be dedicated to Combat Command. Ammo Sarge will have a Basic Training page geared for beginners. I'm thinking about a page called AIT (Advanced Individual Training) for those that have played for a while. A page with links and other downloads to help the PBEMers and onliners. A page of Maps and Scenarios that have been tested for human vs human play. Perhaps a scenario of the month club where you send in your best score. Much like Joes to do list, the sky is the limit and I will try to fill in where Combat Command doesn't.
I'll need help, I'll form a basic staff, but the bottom line will be the site is a gamers site that caters to what you all want. If you write an article send it to me, it may get published. Translaters of course, that is a must do for the help articles. When you see the link for the site then is the time to ask if you can help.
Thanks
PR

I'm quite sure the designers in the Raiders' Team would be happy to contribute scenarios to the effort, and perhaps an occasional historical article related to scenarios being posted.
If you need our help, let me know. We'll do what we can.
I like the idea very much, PR!

Thank you all very much. To those who haven't read some of WB's historical atricles, you going to be in for a treat. I sent him a title called The Dead End Kids about a part of Merrill's Marauders and he sent me back a wonderfuly writen account of them.
My hours are strange so I may use more than one of you for help. Big thanks.

Glad to see you puttin' up some pages
Feel free to call on me too.
Tankhead & I find that tripod is quite a quick server, allows most file types, doesn't want to own your content after you post it and gives you 50 megs to fill. I don't use thier tools, so cannot comment, but they have FTP uploads & are Frontpage enabled. The downside is they don't have much for website traffic monitoring, just total page views yesterday.

Great idea. Feel free to email me directly if you've got any questions about site-making.
And here some suggestions :
- Don't use FrontPageExpress;
The generated code is plain
ugly, worse you'll get only when exporting from Word.
If you want a WYSIWYG-prog, try NetscapeComposer 4.x or (most basic) AOLPress (IIRC).
Better yet, you learn HTML

There are some nice FREEWARE editors out there (I wouldn't recommend to you the one I'm using as it's german only).
- Graphic prog
Found Neopaint 4 the most intuitive off all .. it's shareware, with 30 days testing (this may be enough to get your site started

)
Or try "The Gimp", but it's UNIX-handling ported to Win32 .. drives me crazy
- FTP-prog
You'll want to have a provider that allows you FTP upload .. uploading the files one by one with Webbrowser is a real pain !
A
really great FREEWARE FTP prog is LeechFTP - there's a english (and dozend others) language mod available for it.

That's it for now
