air supply

Post by yamato »

Does anyone know if air supply can still be flown to a base whose airfield has become disabled ? ( With the current blockade situation I'm facing in Luganville,
I am hoping for some parachuted supplies---lol. )

Has to be at least one level of airbase in a hex to deliver supply by air. No para supplies in the game now as it stands. (Would be a nice touch though).

Hello...

In UV, the only way to get supplies to troops is at a friendly base. If the base has no airfield, only patrol aircraft (sea planes) may be used.

In WIP, we allow all planes that can carry supply to air drop supply into any hex containing a friendly land unit or base, with or without a friendly airfield.

We may retro-fit the feature to UV, in time.

Bye...

Here's a quickie Question.

Can someone direct me to any evidence/referance that "Para Dropped Supply" was used in the PTO?

Thanks in advance!

I've read in Bergerud's 'Touched with fire' that on Guadalcanal air drop was used to supply US troops in the Mount Austen area (fighting for the 'Gifu' strongpoint), since overland supply routes were almost non-existent.

Supply drops were also used for allied forces on the Koda trail.
