first.. let me introduce myself.. this is my first post
so, what i mean about this question. First at all i think that is impossible comparate different historic period, because many reasons (weapons, tactics, etc).
So i think that would be better to divide into a periods (by the use of weapons: second world war, anthics...)
and finally.. to me the best is Heinz Guderian in the WW II.

I'd vote for Sergeant Jacob Vouza of the Solomons Coastwatcher force. Tied to a tree with barb-wire, bayoneted several times and left for dead by the Japanese, he managed to get himself free and report to the Marines at Guadalcanal. One tough you know what. Made an honorary Marine by the 1st Marine Division. Probably the greatest honour the leathernecks could bestow.

Nice sniping article. Ive was infact our battalions best shooter in the army. Got lots of 10s and only few 9s. Shooted all mark-plates in tests even though once i couldnt see them cos of the shadows. Ranked nro2 in the list of shooting/navigation tests even though there were officeer trainees and sergeants taking part it too. (I was only 6 months jaeger.)
