Hi Anthony,

First off thank you for the kind words, I do work hard at it but for me, as most designers, it is not really work, we love it! :-) ASL! Dot get me started! RB is still on my own top 10 list for all time great fun!

Now about your OOBs,

The Market Garden scens require version H2Hfr. H2H (Head to Head) is a new version created by Panzer Leo. It is a complete new version for SPWAW. It has many new units, sounds, and oobs. A lot of people like it better than v7.1. I DO NOT recommend overwriting your 7.1 version. If you have room on your PC do this.....

1. Make a complete copy of 7.1, name it H2H in your Matrix Games Folder.

2. In the new H2H open (1 at a time) the Scenario,Maps,Save,PBEM, and Campaigns folder (also Mega Campaign folder if you have any of the MGs) and delete ALL files inside the folders. SO NOT DELETE THE FOLDERS THEMSELVES!

3. Download H2H from here

http://www.theblitz.org/member_sites/pa ... rework.php

into your main H2H folder (big *** file!), extract here, Now you should have two MODs of the game. 7.1 and H2H

If you like the Germans...momma you will love this! And all the scens and Camps are completely new or remade classics, from the very best designers out there!

Then my Market Garden will run very smooooth! and you get over 100 new scens and camps!

Note that scens that have been play-tested for PBEM are marked "PBEM"

Now onto 7.1 and the SS Death Camp Scenario.
Your 7.1 is fine, I posted it too soon, I designed it in 8.0 and it is not yet for public release. Sorry, but the only units that look weird should be the POWs. Hang tight on the scen for the 8.0 which I hear will be out very soon...

I am gonna post this e-mail on the forum in case I missed something so others can add or correct me about the H2H download..

Thanks again!

Jess

Thanks for this info. I`ve been getting some help from the forums at www.theblitz.org on how to install this mod. This extra, cleaar info helped me alot.

Just a quick question, are the campaigns to be played agaist the Ai? Also I assume that scenarios without the "PBEM" suffix are for one player games?

I`ve wanted to try your "market garden" scenarios. Are they single player?

Thanks for any answers

The "PBEM" (at least mine) would be un-balanced against the AI.

The rest of the scens work great for 1 human player. ;)

Market Garden is designed for Human Allies vs. AI

All Campiagns are VS. the AI

Hope this helps.

Paul: Only the games prefixed for H2H in the original H2H download were designed for H2H or H2H/PBEM. Some later ones like Market Garden (not prefixed) are OK, check inital writeup by author of scenario. All the other "original" were in the ver 7.1 and will not always play correctly due to OOB mods.

Not all scenarios which are suitable for PBEM are marked that way. Some of mine weren't noted as such, but the intro text of the scenario will let you know. All my H2H scenarios are playable human vs human (PBEM, On-line, or Hotseat), and most will also play well as solitaire from either side vs the AI.

Thanks

Jess...I finally decided to go down the H2H road...I had (with some great effort) gotten 7.1 and all 3 megas to work, and not crash. I followed your directions form the first post in this thread exactly.

3. Download H2H from here

http://www.theblitz.org/member_site...h_modrework.php

into your main H2H folder (big *** file!), extract here, Now you should have two MODs of the game. 7.1 and H2H
Now when I open 7.1 from icon within minutes it goes crazy and is unplayable (same old problem for me with colors going wild and is visually unplayable, and a prequel to ctd). When I open H2H from the mech.exe in its folder it does exactly the same thing. So, I got 2 unplayable versions of game now. Any ideas what went wrong? I reiterate, I followed the directions you posted in this thread exactly, maybe something was unclear or incorrect/left out? BTW, is there a thread for this installation, I searched forum but there are a tremendous number of h2h references.
Thanks,
Tim

Jess-
I deleted H2H and directory, plus steel.prf, and rebooted and it's behaving better, but I'm still treading lightly. Still am curious as to how to get H2H working right. Anyone have any ideas, or thread links to instructions?
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Hello,

With the assistance of theblitz forum and the guide from Jess I did the following-

Created a new folder in C:\matrixgames and called it "SPWAWh2H"
Created new folders in the "H2H" folder for "Enc", "Email", "lbm", "Maps", "Oob", "Save", "Scen". (essentially the folders that are found in the orginal version) I copied the "Shp" "Pic", and the "Sound" folders from my SPWAW 7.1 folder. To save space, which I was desperatly short of, I DELETED all the files in the "Stream" folder (found in the sound folder) EXCEPT the "VID998.smk" file.

I then copied all the remaining original files from the SPWAW7.1 folder (that weren`t in any sub folders) directly into the H2Hfr folder.

After ALL this, in installed the H2Hfr file that I downloaded directly into the SPWAWh2h folder.

This is essentially the same procedure as Jess said at the beginning, but as I have virtually no space on my hard drive, I created the folders rather than copy and paste. Perhaps this makes for a cleaner install?

I hope this helps, and not made it more complicated :o
