Hi Guys.
I was just wondering if you guys at Matrix have any plans for producing a new game to replace Steel Panthers? That is a regimental/battalion level turn based war game covering some aspect of the 20th Centurary?
I know that you guys are busy with other projects, and that even if the answer is "Yes" that it's not going to be something that we can 'hold our breath for' just yet.
But I was just wondering

Thanks guys

Hello Dave-

SP:Civil War is in development. It is an add-on for SP:WaW and it's being designed by a seperate team. Will be a while before release, though. When it is released, it will provide a base for future developments, maybe an SP:US Revolution, SP:Napoleon, etc...

Thanks,
Matt.

SP:WW1 has been done

It was a private project headed by Bob Williams. It's based in SP3 and Bob had a page up at GeoCities, but it's offline. From what I hear it's finished but Bob has everything and is off in college

Thanks,
Matt.

SPWW1 may be vaporware.
thanks, John.

I am also interested in SP:WW1. I can also offer my help if someone needs it. It sounds for a good idea and I have tried to do some WW1 scenarios to Sp. Those ain't so good because I lack too many things. But hey, keep on going.

SP:WW1 does sound like a great idea. I am relatively new to the world of serious wargames. In my teens we did play a few of the old Avalon Hill classics, but that was a dozen years ago now. After finding SP:WAW and its intense level of depth I am hooked. WW2 is always a great age for the war game (I am sure that everyone has their personal favorite age), but the bloody carnage of trench to trench combat in an age where the most modern weapons had very little yet to oppose them intrigues me. Can anyone suggest a good WW1 game in the time while I wait for someone to ressurect the idea of SW:WW1?
