I was wondering what organization people prefer to use Platoons or companies.I am under the perception you have better command and easier to reduce suppression if you use several platoons chioces than 1 company choice, right or wrong?

I used to use sections rather than platoons for just the reason that you mention. That way I got a leader for every tow or three vehicles instead of for four or five. However, I realized that with a company, you get the platoon leaders plus a company commander too. Since the game is really built around company and higher tactics (companies meuvering their platoons) and since you usually need to keep your units together for combat survivability anyways I find the company the best buy now.

OK, maybe just a bit faded.

I also prefer smaller units, platoons (infantry) sections (artillery-armor), for the same reason Larry mentioned.

I often assign MG units to a platoon, dividing up the MG section. I find this more realistic.

Even though a weapons platoon or company had it's own commander, weapons were usually assigned in support of infantry units and thus under the command of that leader during the battle.

Urus,
In the deployment use the assign botton. Click on unit, then click on asign button. You than find the unit you want to assign the unit to and click on it.
