I purchased this game about a month ago with Korsun Pocket
I tried to learn this game by tutorial but that was difficult.

I have read what desk top general (PC GAMER) has to say about this game: Even for him it took several hours to finish tutorial!

I went to gameranknings.com and one of the review said that it took two days for him just to finish tutorial...

Then...
Is this game good for casual gamers like myself?
I was playing tutorial burned that house 'by chance' and i cant follow the tutorial's next step...

In short word, please HELP!
how can I like this game? (I really like to learn since I dont like to put my 30$ away for nothing)

Is this game just for hard core who followed the series when it was a shareware? What would be the best way to learn this game?

PS) Tutorial for KOrsun Pocket was good enough to hook me (I am new to that genre as well)

Actually this is a great game for casual gamers as once you learn what's going on a random battle takes less then an hour (depends on team size also).

What your probably having trouble with is the 'turn' system (as well as the reviewers).... there's nothing else I know of on the market that is vaugly similiar, so it can be a 'shock' to newer players when they figure out that the turn system isn't like the turn systems in other TBS. Best help I can give you is to read through the sticky in this fourm about the turn system (TOS: WS Turn System QUICK GUIDE ) and that should start to clear things up for you (as well as speed them up).

Well this is just me but it didn't take hours to finish the tutorial. It felt like quite some time but that was because it seemed to introduce things slower than I'd have liked. I had practically no experience of the shareware game but I almost could've jumped right into random battles. Haven't even bothered to read the manual completely since it's mostly not needed (good thing). Having fun training my squad, playing a game once in a while.

The turn system is indeed different but it is very good.

Thank you

The most confusing thing was wait on command.
Following the tutorial, my titan never budged. I cliked by chance wait on call then it starts to move which I still do not understand
(I have never played mech board game)
Interface is very confusing
I have read quick guide and it was helpful....

What sequence of play do you suggest?
Tutorial and then? (play random missions?)

The wait on call command has nothing to do with the board game. It merely tells the currently active mode to wait until the player manually "calls" it from the other mode or F3.
The interface is explained in detail in both the tutorial and the manual.

'Wait on call' takes one of the 2 interface menus (attack screen or move screen) and basically removes it from the game until you want to use it agian by 'calling' it ('call attack' or 'call move' depending on which one you put on 'wait on call')

Tuturial, then one of two random game just to see how many questions you still have, then download the 'Deep Core campain' that Rosary posted in the map section. Deep Core seems to have helped a lot of newbies get a better grasp on the interface options and the turn system.

I am still having trouble when comes my turn and how it ends.

I have played a lot of turn based game but I never had a situation like this before

For me manual or tutorial wasnt a big help...
I have read the article in the sticky section.
Further help would be appreciated

I think to broaden fan base, somewhat more accessible tutorial will be appreciated

Hewwww....

I download the campaign and unzipped it to campaign folder.
Then how can I start that campaign?

I chose solitary and then there was no option for campaign.
I thought my self very seasoned gamer with 300 titles but this one is very different..

I am honored that developer himself answered my question
Thank you!

(Yes this game is unique and attracts me despite the steep learning curve--hmm at least steep to me :))

IGOUGO? Much as it galls me to admit, that's a new one on me. Translation, anyone?

Ooops, its called UGOIGO, not IGOUGO. I reversed the turn order :)

It simply stands for 'you go - I go', the common turn based concept. You move your units, I move my units. You attack, I attack. You surrender, I win.

Actually the more normal version is IGOUGO, although I have seen some posters write IGOHUGO, but I think that only works if your opponent is called Hugo :D .

hmmm
all these I go u go stuff reminds me of the manual of combat mission where they boast off their innovative system of wego!
Maybe I will return to that game for a day or two to pay tribute!

Oh, 'wego' has been around for a long time, although it fell out of favour for a while in computer games until Combat Mission and later Uncommon Valor revived it. Miniatures wargamers have been using it for decades.

Seriously, I'm pleased to see games developers experimenting with different systems, I like the one in ToS now I'm used to it.

You don't exactly get a 'turn' in the traditional TBS sense. Each unit gets commanded via attack or move then you wait for those to be completed. when its 'time' for those commands to completed, then its 'time' to give new commands. Think in terms of seconds to complete. Choose a Command then wait-on that command usually wait on move or wait on attack.

I have to agree. I have played the tuorial twice and this game is not user friendly. The controls are not logical. I want to get into this but it's work. I was hoping the PC game wasn't as bogged down by these kinds of rules. I'm working on it.

Whatever else can be said about the controls - they are logical. There are attack actions and movement actions and each type of actions are on timers. Thats it. There is a handy guide in this forum for further detail.

Now the nuances can take a long time to incorporate well.

Personally, I recommend starting with single mech battles with little terrain - then build up complexity.
