Are you sure? I just looked through that issue and didn't see a review. I thought it was in the November issue. Is it possible for someone to scan it and post it? I assume that it wouldnt be too much of a problem since the November issue of PC Gamer isnt for sale anymore (already into the December issue in October)
Actually

It was the issue previous to the Call Of Duty Issue. Basically PCGamer reminds their readers what games scored higher in the previous issue using the little thumbnails that are found in the Call Of Duty Issue.
It was a good review.

The PCGamer review is what got me to buy the game, actually. When I get home, I'll scan it, but one thing to note:
You know how in the PCG reviews they have a box w/ HIGH/LOW/OVERALL stuff in it? Well...this is the ONLY game I've ever seen reviewed by these guys were they said, "There are no real lows to this game."
Congrats! I'll try to get the article up as soon as possible

The guy who rates those games is a grognard from way back. His name is Trotter I think???? He tends to overrate the "classic" war/strategy games just a bit -- not by much though. He's still my absolute favorite game columnist -- I can live without most of the other writers in the magazine.

He's the only "magazine" wargame reviewer that I trust. If he says it's a good game then I know it's a good game

Ya, Trotter is the first thing I turn too when I get my magazine each month. I read some of the other stuff in the magazine, but, Trotter is tops.
I normally buy all the stuff he reccomends.

I have to agree with you about Trotter. It's good to see wargames reviewed by a guy who knows what he is talking about. I read his stuff in PC Gamer all the time and on wargamer.com. He's a grognard but his reviews always take into account players of all levels of experience and how they would fare which is nice.
Imagine this game reviewed by a FPS guy....

Why does it say November 2003 right beside the title Korsun pocket then ?

They're just showing you some of the reviews they did in the last issue (which was november)
Still waiting for someone to scan the review-please please please

Ok, I'm going to go and see if I can find the review by Trotter right now. If I can -- I'll post something up on it here.

REVIEW OF KORSUN POCKET IN PC GAMER
Ok, I found the article. hehe. WTF??? Now I can't get my scanner to work.
Jeeez. Anyway. The full blown review is in the November 2003 issue.
William Trotter writes the evaluation on page 106 of that issue. Now, he writes this article in addition to writing his regular column for the month so if you just look at his column, you will miss the review.
Here are a few excerpts from Trotter:
"I humbly submit that Korsun Picket is the best wargame ever made for the PC."
"So, what makes this game so great? To summarize...[the game] integrates every aspect of maneuver, combat, logsitics, morale, interdiction, terrain effects, weather, fire support, and replacements into a unified, velvet-smooth dynamic wargaming 'gestalt' that runs like a Ferrari."
"Quite simply, Korsun Pocket is a monumental achievement in game design."
"...it absolutely qualifies as a genuine work of art."
Since I'm a grognard too, and since Trotter is absolutely my favorite game columnist, I'll probably buy the game. I almost always buy what he recommends.
Trotter does tend to overrate the "classic" turn based wargames. But, not by too much. Still, like I said. He is the best.
At least, that is the opinion of this Grognard!
