Stalingrad Campaign Update

The upcoming Stalingrad Campaign should be released next month - February. now to wet your appetite:

Headliner:
You are about to embark upon a long battle harden campaign: Stalingrad! You will be in command of a small independent German Kampfgruppe of your own design. For Core units you must select a well-rounded combined arms team of Armor and Infantry (at least a company of Infantry). You need not worry about transportation for your Infantry, as it will be provided for throughout the campaign. Just stack an Infantry squad in the same location as the transport unit and mount up on turn one...

The Campaign begins on July 28, 1942 during the early stages of operation Blue. Your Kampfgruppe will be thrust into a large battle midst the open Russian Steppe where they'll be baptized by fire. Next Battle involves taking a small Steppe village along the road to Stalingrad. You'll experience the Soviet break out attempt from the Don Bend. As you approach Gumrak Station and air base you'll discover how Russian Flak batteries fight. Soon, you'll be sent northward to fend off strong Russian tank attacks and by the time you prepare to attack Mamayev Kurgan Hill, your Core Battle group will be ready for anything! After leading the assualt on Mamayev Kurgan Hill, be prepared to move at once into downtown Stalingrad to support the attack there! Next, help mop up at the Grain silo! Then prepare for the October battles for Factories! From there - will you be surrounded or make the choice to move westward after the Russian Winter offensive begins? That's the Stalingrad campaign game!

Also be sure to check out the Stalingrad maps posted at Fabio's and Tankhead's web sites!

I've seen it in the making. You won't be disappointed. Marauder has outdone himself on this one...a fine creation.

And congratulations to the SP Arsenal Raider Team doing the testing on this campaign. Good job, WB Raiders!

Bring it on! I want to avenge the 6th Army and defeat the Soviet horde! I have played this campaign or selected battles with other games and look forward to reenacting it with SPWaW. By the way as a side note, the best thing about SPWaW is all of the players that take the time to produce this stuff. The never-ending supply of quality scenarios and campaigns will keep me coming back for a long time to come.
