Saw this on EB Games's web site, (screenie attached I hope)

WAR IN THE PACIFIC PC
Pre-Order: Ships on 3/14/2004
$69.99
Publisher: MATRIX GAMES

Do they know something that folks around here don't?
Might be they are just jumping the gun but they are accepting
pre-orders for WITP now!

Maybe Matrix should start accepting per-orders instead of losing sales to EB Games and generate a little extra revenue now. Personally I'll wait and purchase from Matrix so that they get all the money (profit) out of the sale instead of giving it to EB Games but would order today to reserve my copy if I had the chance. :D

Give EB some credit, at least they got the year right this time! Image

EB has a habit of listing things like this... then you find out later that the launch date has completely changed. Any date beyond next week should be viewed with much hesitancy.

Too bad -- March would have been wonderful! :D

When I worked at EB we were told to make up ficticious dates when we had no idea what the date would in fact be

I used to love their "Yep we have plenty in stock" line when you call, then you get to the store and they tell you it doesn't arrive until next week.

Anything to get you through the doors and plunk down money on a pre-order ...

Amazon.com is even better:

"Availability: This item will be released on November 25, 2003. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives."

Wasn't it Wimpy from the old Popeye cartoons who said, "I will gladly take your money now for software to be delivered on Tuesday."...
