I THINK I SHIFT MY PANTS!

Not to be too melodramatic but, wow, great game guys (and gals?). While I don't consider myself a grog I have nonetheless been a pc wargamer since Fields of Glory (anyone remember that one?), and a board gamer long before that even. I only recently got permission from the lil' mis to add KP to my library and I just had to register here simply to give credit where credit is due, because this is one helluva game.

I'm no where near familiar enough with the mechanics yet to take on a scenario but from what I've gleaned thus far KP has the exceedingly rare ability to pucker the sphincter and stress the cerebrum all to an equal degree. Well done folks. Well done.

Yes, it is a great game.

There is a patch due out in a few weeks.

Fields of Glory - yes, that was a lot of fun as I remember, and the graphics were great for their time - but I think you will appreciate the AI in Korsun Pocket a lot more than the AI in FOG :-)

Cheers Chris

Yes, it is a great game.

... and when you've "mastered" the game mechanics, advertise for pbem opponents and I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses from those who would like to tighten that sphincter a little more.

I just started the "last stand at Korsun" ... don't let that one get by you ... Its a great rescue mission.

Good luck and welcome to the community ...

Thanks all!

A patch you say, well I look forward to that. As for the AI in FOG no, it wasn't all that sophisticated, but I admit to cursing out those pesky Prussians more than once. And mastering the mechanics in KP will be a long time coming if not altogether too optimistic, but I'm used to the rank of private no-class. Besides, ignorance and unpredictability are synonymous on the battlefield. If I don't know what I'm doing then you sure as heck won't know what I'm doing either. ;)

LOL!
For a second I thought you were making a pun on the usage of the shift key in the game. Too bad-that would have been classic :)

Bit off-topic, but FOG had some great graphics and decent UI for it's time. Reminds me a lot of SM Gettysburg. FOG actually showed the geography and height differences a lot better than SMG (2d isometric vs real 3d.. and 2d wins!).

However, FOG lost it's appeal when I realised that the AI was crap, and the easiest way to win was to smash the enemy's batteries and then use yours to batter his remaining units into oblivion.
No limited ammo and no fatigue rules meant that cannon ruled the field...

Anyway, to keep this on-topic a bit: welcome to KP!
Tip of the day: Never allow hvy art and nonmech supply trucks off the road if there is chance of mud.
I'm speaking out of experience... :(

Actually I kind of was, although I admit the topic was a bit unrelated. :D

Yeah, dude! Great Game! (From what I've heard, as it won't install on my CPU correctly. There's a bunch of errors, and I installed all the latest patches (1.10 and 1.11 and Copy Protection 'Fix'), and it just sucks right now.) But the game- THAT rocks! (Not that I can play it. I guess $55.00US cannot buy a playable game nowadays. It's a shame. Maybe one day a reply will come to help me install and play KP...maybe not.) SWEET!
