I just played the game for 5 days so far and I'm confused about some aspects. I know some equipement are avaible only by dates, but some aspects still puzzle me.

1) When i play a campaign, can i buy strike element aircrafts as my core force?

2) I find that a lot of equipment is unavalible at the purchase screen, either they are red so u can;t buy them or they never appear. Why?

3) On the second mission of my randomly gernerated campaign, the strike element disappeared from my MISC buying list. It was avaible during the first mission, so why did it disappear?

4) I was reading the Encyclopedia and saw the MAUS German tank. However, i never saw this cool tank in my buy list in any of my campign games.

I can answer #2...its call availabilty and has to do with the shortage of units available at that time due to manufacturing, delivery, etc. Those in red are in very short supply and will vary from battle to battle and date to date. Sorry about the other questions but someone willl come along shortly and answer your question I'm sure. By the way welcome to the forum you'll really enjoy this game I'm sure.....Good Hunting

In answer to your first question, the reason that you cannot buy aircraft, or off-board artillery for that matter, as part of your core force, is that these units were assigned as support units on a battle by battle basis.

Whether you are talking about the Luftwaffe, the U.S. Army Air Corps, the R.A.F, or other air services, these units acted as support units to the forces they were assigned, and not as permanent members of any ground unit. Thus they cannot be part of a unit's core force. (This is as I understand it, from my own readings of history sources. If I am incorrect, I'm sure someone will let us know.) Hope that helps!
