Scenarios Balanced for PBEM

Can anyone give me some advice about which scenarios are balanced for PBEM?

My regular PBEM opponent and I are finding the generated battles getting a bit 'old', and we are trying to find more interesting ideas.

Some scenarios compensate for the dumb AI by increasing the forces available to the AI, or having a company of tanks 'infiltrate' to very odd places. Most players are not as dumb as the AI, and this can make the scenarios quite unbalanced.

I checked out the info on scenarios 'Scenarios in SPWAW', that comes with the game, but these don't help.

Is there any register of scenarios that are PBEM suitable?

If you have H2H-fr, there are a large number of PBEM scenarios that are exactly what you're looking for, as well as a ton of PBEM custom maps.

I haven't gone to H2H-fr yet. We play 7.1 still. Neither of us was keen on the complication of carrying two versions of the game. I thought the H2H essentially had the same list of scenarios as 'straight' SPWAW. If the set of scenarios is different, there's another reason to move.

That's one of the reasons why the patch for the latest version (H2H-fr) is so much larger: it contains all the H2H-specific scenarios that were created. IIRC the custom maps for PBEM span a few pages too; most* of these can be used in v7.1 also.

*Some of these maps use the new icons (SHPs) included in H2H-fr. The same SHP files will be included in SPWAW v8.0 (and the Screaming Eagles MegaCampaign) when they're released, making all maps usable under either version of SPWAW. If you just want the new SHP files for now I'll be glad to send you a link to them (they're 2.3mb)....remember, once v8.0 comes out you'll have them anyway.

I'm just downloading H2H for now, and I'm happy to wait for v 8.0.
