History:
"By mid-September the Germans had pushed the Soviet forces in Stalingrad back until the latter occupied only a nine-mile-long strip of the city along the Volga, and this strip was only two or three miles wide. The Soviets had to supply their troops by barge and boat across the Volga from the other bank. At this point Stalingrad became the scene of some of the fiercest and most concentrated fighting of the war; streets, blocks, and individual buildings were fought over by many small units of troops and often changed hands again and again."
STALINGRAD NORTH-WEST, GERMAN TURN ONE

Yes Commisar
Sir, we have made contact with lead elements of German recon units, intelegence report suggest this is the lead elements of a push by Herr General Jess.
Herr General Jess? Using recon???

That is unheard of.

Well maybe they can teach an old dog new tricks.
Well hold the line where we can, but retreat quickly if heavly pushed, we can give up a lot of ground and there is not a lot of menuverability with all this mud and rain.
PS Hey Jess are we doing reinforcements in this battle and if so when can I call them?

STALINGRAD NORTH-WEST, GERMAN TURN TWO
Alexandrowke NW of the Factories:
Long range MG fire is shooting at my Recon with little effect.
Quad Maxim HMG trucks also open up and kill a few of my men.
76L(?) ATGs also open up, and I cannot see any of them!
My men close in on the town, CONTACT! A Soviet SQ shoots too early and is spotted, A Flame Tank is called in, and....
Another Flame Tank moves in and is lost! To another (same?) Soviet SQ!
Now the Russian Maxims and ATGs return fire all along the small front, They seem to want to hold the SE side of Alexandrowke Bridge! A few well placed Nebs will take care of that! And oh, lookey here, a Pre-registered Artillery Hex!
Artillery lands all over the Reds at the bridge, and the turn ends with my own fear, I have fought this Soviet commander before, And he has forced me from the field! NOT THIS TIME!
Back to Gary!

We have made more contact with the Germans, they ran on of their flame tanks into a Guards unit and we got off the first fire. One dead flame tank, unfortunatly the victory was short lived as his platoon mate came in and flamed the whole squad to death. But we slowed the down a lot. Now they are hitting us with Neblewifers and smoke. Ouch.
Jess when can I order reinforcements?

We have come under heavy fire from at least a company of Grenidiers and more flame tanks have been litterally tourching our troops. Also flakivier has hit us again and again and again.
Hmm this could be Herr General Jess, either way call Stavaka and make a request for any artillary support that they can give us also if they can lend us a couple of aircraft support available. We appear to have a major push on our hands.

We have a report from the front, the facists are starting to make head way in the north and we are starting to fall back to our secondary positions. He have held the bridges in the north though and they are getting slaughters trying to cross them. So they have decided to gambit the chasim instead. We shall let them get half way across then massicure them when they are most vunerable.
Stavka reports that there was no aircraft available, but them have sent what they could spare for artillary. We should have full use of it in a few turns. That is all commrade.

We are starting to get into house to house fighting with the Germans. We win some and lose some. We lost to squads to a flame tank. Terrible thoughs monsters. But we have been able to hold the Germans. We have started to try to move some of the units back to secondary positions the smoke and fires are making firing lanes to close for our ATG's to be effective. One of our transports was sniped by a German tank retreating to a new location.
Send this to all the troops, do not, I repeat, do not engage the flame tanks in assualts if it can be avoided. Let the ATG's do their jobs. Tatrovoski out.

The Krats have pushed into Alexandrowski, but sir they seem to be leading with their tanks.
"Now that does sound like Colonel Jess, LAUNCH OPERATIONS BLOODY NOSE"
Soviet Marines and Calvery Hidden in the town until now, burst forth out of buildings and assualt the poor tanks left all alone. Armored cars move out and take on PZIII's with 4-1 odds.
Sir we have taken out three of the tanks that entered the Village in the North, and have killed at least a platoon of Grenadiers.
But in the south there is one undestroyable PZVI. We have hit it a number of times with ATG's and T-34's, to no avail.

STALINGRAD NORTH-WEST, GERMAN TURN SIX
My attack is slowed by the sneaky Russian Bastards~
T34s pour out from the gullies and hidden spots, Still I push forward and trade blows with the Soviets. The North and Center of the map is where most of the action is..for now.
In the South I spot more T34s

We continue to contest the town of Alexandrowski in the north, we have delt the Krats a hard blow on the nose. A full platoon of PZ-IV's have fallen to our armored cars and marines along with two platoons of Grenadiers. Also a couple of flame tanks and Stug'42's down the klik.
In the Center the Grenadiers and some other tanks have made it accross the revine and are starting to press us hard sir.
Down in the south a strong armor contingent has moved in, but we are ok for now. Due to the terrain it is difficult for them to over run us and the ATG's are really doing a number on them.
Good work Captain keep me informed.
