and now the server has packed a sad, although at the speed i was downloading at, it was gunna take 106 hours to get, might it not have been a good idea to break it down with winrar or winace..

I'm connected right now by cable modem downloading the full game and getting >60KB/sec and 1.5 hr total download time

lucky you but we don't have cable in this country and I'm getting less than 1k/sec, which is pathetic so if this is a new server I'd hate to see what the old one was like..

If it was the server I would not be able to get more than 1KB/sec either...its your connection, not the server!

Paul, evan down here in florida using a dialup mod. I have seen over the pass couple weeks only 3k/sec download from any site. It is the condition of the cabling between server and us, so unless everone can have fiberoptics installed, we are stuck with verrrrrrry slow down/up speed.
The people over sea's have to deal with the transocean cable, some which are still 30-40's technoligy.
So Mr Paul don't take offence about the server, somtimes it will be, when there is a large number of downloads at the same time.
I download late at night or early morning when everyone is asleep or out partying.
I think I have run my mouth long enough, I do not mean to step on anyones toes or hurt anyones feels if I did I apoligize now.

I am getting 8-10 kb/s, even across the pacific

This was at 0.15 GMT, which would early evening in USA, so it should be a good sample.
