Air Group morale

It seems to me that morale falls far to quickly. I can see low morale if you are on some nasty airfield in the jungle, same old mission to hit the other guys field and they just bombed ours. After a week or more of that I'm sure it gets old.
BUT! How about IJN Carrier Division 5, (Shokaku and Zuikaku, reinforced by Shoho) arriving in the Gili Gili area last night supporting another glorius conquest for the empire. That same night an Allied TF of 2xCA's, 1xCL and 2x DD's hit one of our assault TF's, sinking an AP, DD and PG.(not horrible considering the possibilities) Well, the next morning(May 6, light rain) one of our Jake search planes spot this enemy TF trying to slink away just three hexes away from our position. 229 sorties later, in three waves(no plane flying more than two missions), Chicago, Australia and Hobart all turn over and sink from multiple torpedo and bomb hits :D :D with only 6 aircraft lost to AAA. :D :D :D
You would think that this was the best day ever for the air groups of CARDIV 5 (not counting Dec 7). But NOooo, morale drops from 99 pre-mission for all sqs to the 40's and 50's for the Kate and Val sqs. You think morale would go up to 120% and lets go kick so more Allied ?ss.
This game is pbm against someone who seems to know what he is doing (only my 2nd live game). I don't believe he had spotted my CV's so maybe was not expecting carrier interference....terry

Nah. The morale loss is due to too many sake hangovers :D .

No it works just right. You try flying three missions in one day against a strong enemy opponent in the teeth of intense AA fire. You would be facing death and cheating it three times in one day. How do you think you would turn out at the end of the day? Any human, sucessful or not, would be an emotional and physical wreck after three combat missions such as that-and in dire need of a day or two of rest. Best way to kill pilots in this game and in real life is to use them day after day with no breaks.

Note that in milder missions against light opposition morale does not drop too fast. This is the way it should work. I think the designers are right on the money with this.
