Every time I try to read a message, I get a meassage about a "WSOCK32.DLL." and then Netscape shuts down. I have no idea what this means and I haven't been able to read anything for weeks. Please e-mail me with a reply at csmith422@prodigy.net.

Thanks,
Chuck

Your .dll might have been corrupted. Check the last modification date for the file, and if it had been modified in the past weeks, you could try grabbing an original version off another computer. You could also try reinstalling windows.

I've been trying to help Chuck with this, but am at a wall. Any help will be appreciated.

He emailed me: "I have WSOCK32 already in my systems folder. I still don't understand the error message I get when I try to read a post on the SPWaW forum. That's the ONLY time this ever happens. I can log on to the Matrix site no problem, but when I try to read a thread or post is when I get the message. It seems like it's about to load and then a box with "Netscape has caused an error in WSOCK32.DLL. and will now shut down. Try restarting the computer if the problem persists" The same thing happens if I try it through Internet Explorer. (same message except it says "Iexplorer has caused....") I can't check any replies from the bulletin board..."

So if you have any ideas, please email him. Thanks.

cs....you may have been a victim of the "Snow White virus"...I was up on Computing.Net and I ran across a very similar message as yours. Go to said Net and go to page 2...bottom third of page..refering to MTX mess....chief
