question and comment about supply

First the question: are there variations in supply hardcoded for each unit? By that I mean do the Red Devils resupply at a lower level than say the 82nd and both less than the 101st? Do these supply levels vary as you get past Sept 17th, and does the weather have an effect? Just curious, as I read that resupply will be adddressed in the next game I believe. I assumed that by that you meant in the next game, supply would vary, depending on supply lines, isolation in addition to factors like those above which are out of the player's control.
Now the comment: when I first started playing the game I was a bit surprised that resupply had not been addressed in a more comprehensive manner, as it seemed to be a critical issue from the little I knew of the operation. However, as I got to know the game and the operation better I came to realize that although supply (or lack of it) was critical, much of the factors influencing it were beyond the control of the ground forces and as such beyond the scope of this game. I agree that the amount of work it would take to implement those rules were not worth it for this game (dont mean to sound pompous, I realize my opinions aren't that important). I admit it would be fun to try and have the Red Devils keep the DZs secure, to secure supplies, but would it have made a big difference given the other factors such as hellacious flak and lack of air superiority? (this was an honestquestion for the more knowledgable out there, not meant to be rhetorical).
