Lately Gary's games travel in pairs. Battle of Britain followed by Bombing the Reich and Uncommon Valor followed by War in the Pacific. So will we see Galaxy at War after he finishes World at War? [:D]

You never know. Actually we have at least 3 ideas on games we'd like to do that are similar to GGWaW, but they'll wait until after WitP and GGWaW are done and we see what the reaction to the game is.

Hit! That's one, but as the son of a NH Yankee, I call it by a different name.

Civil War is boring. Why not make a revolutionary war game instead. Guns were less accurate so it gives more of an oppertunity for calvery and infantry charges.

What I'd really like to see is a space game. WW2 in space. If you ever saw "Space Battleship Yamato" ("Star Blazers" in the US) you'll know what I mean. I'd like to see a modern version of the SSI classics "Cosmic Balance I" and "Cosmic Balance II".

I'd vote for a serious look at the US War of Independance. I don't recall any in depth treatment of the subject in a computer game.

I believe SSI made at least one go at the American Revolution - you can check out the Underdogs freeware/shareware/abandonware side & see if they might have a version for download.

I'd love to see a really good Civil War Strategic game - there are plenty of great board games out there, but no computer titles that really get in depth.

I really wish "Road to Moscow" had made it out of development. The concept was fantastic - just looks like they were unable to get the technology to work itself out. A real shame.

Maybe I'm not up to date but is there still plans for the UV mediterranean? World at War looks very good by the way.

My vote is for War in Europe with the WIR look to it. Oh speaking of WIR is there still plans for WIR 2?

Hmm. That makes me think back. All the years I have followed GG and his band of merry programmers where ever they programmed. I only recall him doing war games of some sort. ( Am I missing a game somewhere?) Space war seems a little out but ya never know. I think GG and Co. would do a great job at a Space game. IMO.[:D]

Keith Brors, one of the 3 in 2by3 has been developing a space game for the last few years. He's been doing it for fun on the side, but I know that someday he would very much like to have it become a 2by3 official product. Gary and I are mostly historical guys, and you'd have to go back to Cosmic Balance to the last space game I actually worked on. Of course, that was programmed by my ex-roommate and best man, Paul Murray and for all I know Keith did testing or some other programming on that game as he was just starting at SSI back then. Wish I could convince Paul to develop Keith's space game (hey, that's an idea).

There are still plans to do both of those games, and some work has been done already. We have many more games we'd like to do than time and resources to do them, but hopefully we'll get around to all of them eventually.

Joel have you thought about cloning yourselves? Technology is apparently there although in beta phase so to say [:D]

That way you could get more games done, and satisfy the insatiable appetites of us, HUNGRY WARGAMERS. If clones don't appear to be as talented as originals you can always order them to make another Warcraft clone (and make some money on it as well).

And by the way, then you could change the name of your company to something more appropriate, like 2by3by4by2by3bywhatever...

Don't tell me this is bad idea. I am sure Pasternakski will support it.

Oleg

I had a lot of fun with Cosmic Balance I and II. Loved the ability to use ships of your own design in the more strategic level game. A modern combination of those games would be a lot of fun...

I love space. I think you could make a really cool tactical fleet game if you balance the issues of fields of fire vs. turn speed vs. missile/anti-missile warfare. Throw on top of that relationship a fight for space superiority with fighter wings to open the way for small torpedo ships and you have a good set of decisions to make and balance. The missile/anti-missile dynamic needs to be crafted in such a way as to promote fleet formations designed around collective defense. An important part of any tactical game is terrain. I think that if you created some concept of an alternate dimention like hyperspace or whatever that would create the effect of terrain it would really help... and hell there could be a submarine analog that operates in that dimention. Oh! And then there's a strategic level game where you're trying to position your fleets to protect your space and playing some kind of complicated information battle where you're trying to keep an eye on the enemy and stop the enemy from keeping an eye on you... which will eventually lead to blows. Oh! And then there's this whole economic game you're playing, cause you need to know why you're protecting this space right? Profits! Which will lead to the research part of the game, and then keeping the people happy... and then make it real time and a massively multiplayer game!!! it's so hard not to want everything.

Come on Kid, you've surely tuned into the AA engine, what a thing of beauty. Now if we could just get a PBEM adaptation from the Panther guys then the sky is the limit as the system has the potential to accomodate multi scales.

Hi, I'd like a game about the Roman Empire done 1 day at a time [X(]
Parthia, Gaul. Britian, Carthage, Goths, Huns, (you get the pitcture)
(657,000 turns)
