Just a quick question that I hope someone can answer..I am in a PBEM game and it is July 1942...At the beginning of the war my opponent did not invade Wake Island..I reinforced the base but was having trouble supplying it..My supply convoys were coming from Midway..I would load the transport convoy up Destination base Wake: Home Port Midway...They would sail untill they were 1 hex from Wake and then stand off the island for weeks at a time....I made sure the move option was set to zero...After a couple of weeks with no movement from the TF I made the home port also Wake Island thinking that they would return to port...Still they stood off 1 hex...All ships in the TF had fuel so why did they not complete thier missons....Wake's AF was at 4 and it was in a friendly air zone..Its a moot point at this point (My opponent just recently took Wake) but it would be nice to know for future refrence..Thanx

was your convoy sent on cargo or transport cargo tend to turn back at the slightest enemy threat while transport will push on. some times even transport tf will turn back if enemy ships are in the area

well air zones play a big factor also in convoy movement wake is in a bad location japan can hit in from many air fields.

Check the port size at your destination - if it's 0/Zero than no ship can sail to this island either friendly or enemy

I had put engineers on Wake....The Airfield was size 4 and the Port was a size 3

This sounds like a "fog-of-war" feature that has gone out of control and turned into a bug. I have noticed that when a TF of ANY type stops short of its destination, it's nearly impossible to get it to continue on. There's no choice but to return the TF to another port and disband it.
If the base you wish to resupply is not isolated, you can transfer an HQ to that base. This often gets supplies flowing through the Routine Convoy Phase. (To do this, it's a good idea to move HQ's before they are overrun. Asiatic Fleet makes a good HQ that you can afford to lose.)
