Ack ... Shock Damage

I have a new-found respect for shock damage. My top squad of four pilots (average level elite) had about 80 battles under its belt - and now I've had my first bad experience with shock damage.

One of my long range support mechs was taking a disproportionate beating from its enemy counterparts - but I was close to making an important kill. I took a medium critical to life support and had red head armor - so I nearly punched out right there. However, since my weapons only needed 2 seconds to recharge - I hesitated ... hoping for the kill.

Those two seconds gave three different mechs a chance to connect shots to my mech (hits to the torso mainly) - but each damaged the pilot. Killed in action during those precious two seconds. It hurts twice as much because she was the leader 78%/business manager 85%).

Bottom Line - in the future, life support critical means I hit that eject button with no debate or delay.

I love the nuances to this game lol. And I love the constant danger to pilots - you just can't take any fight for granted.

Note that you can reduce the effect if you pass a modified skill check versus survival. Seems your jock failed this test. Cyborgs ignore one level of life support damage. ... wait a minute .... just checked the code .... ouch, big bug here. Cyborgs should always ignore one level but they don't. Will be patched with v1.2

Btw, whats your standard setup (tons/AI level) when fighting with your elite squad ?

I've been fighting against veterans with a slight tonnage advantage to the AI (10-20%). My mechs were Grizzley, Saggita, Fog Giant, Marauder (each with some modification) (620tons total). The dead leader was piloting a modified Sagitta.
