If at first you don't succeed...

Hey Guys
Several months ago I posted a thread about a solitaire game I was playing against the AI (historical setting) on the number 17 scenario (the full game). At that time I was very sad[:(] as I had tried to take Shortland Island and had been trounced quite soundly. I lost my two Marine Divisions and a Marine Parachute regiment not to mention most of my shipping. Well, a week ago I decided to carry on and after senging MacArthur to Hawaii to beg Nimitz for more ships (ship availability 200 %[:D]) (is this cheating?) I decided to go after the mother of all prizes, Rabaul. After building bases at Bonis and Ganai and piling in over 100,000 troops in a 12 stint in front of the computer (Honey what are you DOING up there?) I am happy to say that I took that little base causing me to go from 1200 points down to 4000 points up. Yeah for me! So let that be a lesson to all you youngsters out there. If at first you don't succeed, screw with the settings and get every ship you can, historicity be damned! That is all.
