exit at metaborator?

I made it to the area marked out in red...what happens then...isn`t that the goal, to get one titan into that area? Battle doesn`t end and headquarters says I have to retrieve my team. (Oh ya, my titan lost his leg after a couple of failed skill checks, so I can`t move him out if that`s what you`re supposed to do.)

After entering the area, you have to give another move order like walk or turn. Also, always make sure how many titans are required to enter the target or exit areas - it may be just one, it may be all still functional, it may be something in between.

There are also some maps that require you to go to a target area before proceding to an exit area. don't know if the map you're on is one of these or not, check F11(?) I think it's F11... if not, it's on of the 'F' keys... just keep mashing till you get the right one [:'(]

This was one of the hardest (and most fun) missions of the campaign[:)]
I did it with an assortment of forces. You'll need 1-2 fast titans (I think I used a light) then some heavy back-up firepower. I used some heavy titans for this and a Assault for missle support. 1st thing was to run/jump like all getout to get near what's-her-face. 1st order of bussiness was to get the AI interested in my titans and stop shooting at her. Don't worry about resucing her with the 1st titan on the scene... she can sit in the mud for a while. The 1st titans on the scene are pretty much cannon fodder, get what use out of them that you can, but there main purpose is to get the enemy's attention and delay them until the rest of your squad shows up. Clean house around the swamp, rescue the jock with your larger titans and then cover her movement to the exit area.
The covering her movement part turned out to be about as hard as rescuing her in the 1st place. sent all but one of my remaining titans toward the middle of the map to draw enemy fire which was approaching from the south and to do what damage I could, sent 1 titan with the rescued jock, keeping it closer to the enemy then the jock was (making it an easier target) and used LARGE amount of smoke to try to cover the mad dash across the plains on the western side of the map. I only made it off this map with the resuced jock and 1 heaviliy damaged titan. One lucky shot anytime in the last 60secs or so and my last titan would have been disabled and I would have lost.
That's sorta how I did it, I'm sure there are other ways to pull this mission out but this worked for me pretty well considering I think I would have done better if I had more titans. I only had 4 at this time.. thinking they were a Penetrator, Fog Giant, Tentakel...and something else.. wasn't my normal titan (a Bonecrusher), I bought something for this mission especially.. it was a heavy with good JPs, can't remember though. The Penetrator only arrived at the swamp in nik of time.. if I had to do it agian, I might use something faster, but I would have needed a 5th jock.

With map 3 of metaborator, I used 1 assault (gargantua), 1 heavy(sagitta), 1 medium(dragonscale), 1 light(imp), and 4 recons(swift death, prowler, pack hunter, wolfpack).
What I did was make all of my recons run and jump as fast as they can in the direction of Katja. My imp tried to keep up, but arrived at the scene rather late... anyways. That's it. Recons and light to the direction of Katja, and then my assault, heavy, and medium titans popped up to take the attention away from the recons. I focused my fire on the enemy's light titans and managed to disable one and did significant damage to the other. What's left were an assortment of heavies and assaults who kept exchanging fire with my three heavier titans...
basically, what I did was soften up the faster titans who would probably meet up with my recons. This way, it would be an easier fight. Then, ensure that the heavier enemy titans don't go after Katja. With a bit of luck, you would win...

110 tons? is that your total tonnage? that's only a recon and a light. that's like, suicide.

Yep, that's the logic way to play it. Have your heavier support wing stand ground and down as many recons and lights as possible, and get your recons to dash to Katja's position.
The map says 300 tons as minimum BTW. (maybe this is a little on the low side, for a veteran squad, will prolly be increased)

my squad is a recon, a light and two heavies...the recon and light head for Katya and the two heavies start south to the uplink hex engaging the opp from that direction...guess the strategy then is to attract attention from the lights that would otherwise head to Katya ...

<----------definately a stout
[&:] does the opps` tonnage change with your squad size or not...perhaps having more than one recon would be an advantage if it doesn`t...

Yep, it does. Notice that the briefing suggests using *at least* 1 or 2 recons. In red. [;)]
Don't want to give away numbers, would spoil the fun [:D]
