Early versions of WiF

90% of my WiF experience was done in versions 3 through 5 even after the new editions came out. However I did once see the original edition countermix... unnamed BBs with random strengths and a ruleset that only a mother could love. Just for the sake of discussion I'm wondering what other people consider was the *worst* feature of early WiF.

Of course all of these early issues have been fixed up in WiFFE... there are no problems there :)

I got involved at about 3.2 and was at Seven point somthing at the end. ADG had just or about finished with Vichy captulation, Air intercept, and some minor power ods and ends.

Worst feature? Nobody to play with because of the garganuan rule books. Me, I liked the attention to detail but they scared everyone else away.

One of the worst features?

When Hq's were allowed to be loaded on air transports and "flown" forward.
This had a major impact upon the East Front for both sides.
During Mud turns, HQ's were just loaded up and moved forward never getting their boots muddy, unlike the rest of the land forces.

Also when ADG changed the ability of "mud" weather to freeze HQ movement, to allowing Hq's to move in mud weather.
It really had a major impact to the impluse choices and prosecution of Land battles during inclement weather.
