Who wrote the front page article referring to Napoleon as "The Little Corporal".

Bonaparte was never a corporal. Corsican, maybe. But not a corporal.

I do believe his troops gave him the term of endearment "Petit Caporal" : The Little Corporal.

It would seem so. I had thought the writer was confusing him with a certain German from a later century.
