Ok, this is really messed up!!!!! In my pbem game, I got this from a pby catalina squadron.....
check it out....

Y'ain't seen nothin' yet. You can get PBY squadrons with 100 pilots, half of 'em with 99 experience, and some with kills against Zeroes.
I think that this is a hangover from the old "pilot allocation" problem that was "fixed" in one of the patches. There is supposed to be one last UV patch after WitP is finished that will backfit WitP improvements. I hope that little problems like this will be addressed at the same time.

What? None of the pilots have any kills?? Man, not one ace among them. Disgraceful [8|] . They should all be put on desk jobs immediately!

It's not unusual to have Patrol squads with lots of high- experience polits. What looks suspect here is the low mission counts to get that experience.

I was under the impression that through the withdraw option, I would be able to place those pilots into the pilot pool, where they would do some good by being reassigned to other squadrons. Is this true?

This is a bug, not a mechanic. If you withdraw one of these squadrons, you lose the whole deal except the pilots' names. You will not see a 99 experience PBY pilot suddenly stride forth in a flight suit and hop into an F4F.
