I had an entire free day today slotted for CoD, but I keep getting the combat crash bug. Argh!! Hopefully the sooner the better on the issues that make the game unplayable, 'cause I'm liking it when I can.

I like the game, but I mostly got it for the mini interface. That doesn't work, so I am READY for that patch....?
Interesting, the more I experiment with it, the better I like it.
It's going to be a great line of games.

The game is really unplayable with the crashes in combat screen and the inability to attach to corps (among others). This is too bad, as I can see the game's potential when it works.
Hoping the patch comes soon...

What patch?
The download I bought just yesterday was version 2.0.
Is version 2.0 buggy? Because I'd rather not mess with my system to get a game running if its programming problems that's preventing my ability to play it.
Adam.

Before doing too much to your system, I would wait for the patch. Although this is only anecdotal, I've never had a problem with any game before this one, and my assumption is that the execution faults are entirely due to the game/install code.
As for your question, Frank has submitted a patch to Matrix to address several problems, although what he's mentioned so far in the forums doesn't seem to cover the install issue (but it might?!?). Not sure when to expect the patch, but likely this week.

I think it was released at version 2.0 (Adanac being version 1.0)
The installation issues were addressed mostly on this forum.
I would assume that Frank also addressed this in the patch.
Hopefully, the patch will clear up most of the issues.
I believe it was submitted last Thursday.
Any time now. Hang in there.

I like Frank and fully support his games. However, it's hard for me to imagine that many of these issues (bugs) were not addressed in the earlier Adanac version. I also know that Frank fully supports his games and does patch them. Just wondering!!!

I kind of agree. I'm new to the series, and I don't want to seem too critical (because I like what I see so far), but it surprises me that this is version 2 (within 48 hours there were comments on these boards with simple suggestions for improving the display of information). As for the execution faults, I can only assume that there were some overlooked bugs when the latest build was created, but why QA didn't catch it is beyond me. I do hope that the patch (and other patches) address more than bugs and at least introduce some simple, but needed features.

John, Rainbow,
Everyone seems to think this is the same game as Adanac, It is not
It may look similar, But...
The other game, (so I hear) ran fine. The differences is the facelift!
It is simply NOT just plugging in the new graphics and sound. code is written, changed
etc. I am new here, and I feel very good about this game and series.

Things were working just fine

jheydt,
When I left off testing and playing Adanac's CLGA 1805/1809 the reported combat crash bugs, Army CG attachment problem and other problems did not exist. These unfortunately cropped up when Frank had to incorporate new graphics and other features. Also unfortunately I was not able to test version 2.0 to ensure that these kind of things did not crop up unreported before release since I was very in tune with how everything worked prior. Unfortunately these kind of probems happen when major changes are made.
