Out of Date Rules versions

I downloaded the WiF:FE rules from www.a-d-g.com recently and spent a few happy half-hours diving in and out of various sections until I became seriously confused. Surely my memory isn't that bad? I sez to myself. Where did these extra rules come from?

So over the weekend I dragged my WiF 5.x +PiF + SiF manuals out of the closet and realised that I had become a little fossilised (read Out-of-Date) in my understanding of the WiF system. IMHO I'd say that all of us looking to kibbitz on the development of CWiF need to become familiar with the WiF:FE rules. (This naturally does not apply to Les_The_Sarge who already knows everything [:D] )

Perhaps one of the first things we can hope for from the CWiF Development Team is the list of which rules will be included/excluded from CWiF

Just what I said in my post some time back:
RE: Matrix Games and Australian Des... (in reply to Caranorn)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's see if I have got this right (and I think everyone should be clear on this):

ADG states on their website the following about the 2003 Deluxe rules (in dead-tree format):
World in Flames™ Deluxe Game
Description
The World in Flames Deluxe game provides you with everything you need to gain the full rich experience of World in Flames.

The World in Flames Deluxe game includes 3600 counters (CS1-9, 14, 15 & 18-24), 7 maps (West and East Europe, Asia, the pacific, the Americas, Africa and Scandinavia), Rules and Scenarios booklets and charts to allow you to refight World War II in one accessible, yet highly detailed game.

The World in Flames Deluxe game includes Planes in Flames, Ships in Flames, Mech in Flames, Africa Aflame and Asia Aflame. It also contains all the latest updates to the game including the 2003 reprinted counters (CS 1-6, 14 and 15) and the very latest (2003) rules and scenarios booklet incorporating a dozen new optional rules, a brand new 1940-45 campaign game and all the latest errata and revisions.

The rules now also contain all the optional rules from every WiF kit from Planes in Flames to Cruisers in Flames all in one easy to access (not to mention fully indexed) rule book.

If you want to refight World War II from go to whoa then the World in Flames Deluxe game is for you.

Is this the "Latest Deluxe" version that Matrix will be using as the model for cWiF? Will all the add-on rules mentioned above be included? Will any additional rules, such as "America in Flames" be included?

Perhaps this time someone will answer me[&:]

The original intent was that CWiF would use WiF FE Raw ?.?. The entire Raw (rules as written) project was started for CWiF I. WiF always had problems with rules clarity, that's why a project was started to clarify it all (as a computer game does not leave any room for rule experts or rule lawyers, the computer needs specific answers).

So whatever the latest version of Raw is, that set of rules should be the basis for CWiF (some modification, like the single scale map would obviously occure).

That is of course my personal recollection. I've never worked for ADG and haven't been all that close to these projects (I shortly took part in proof reading of the German version of the rules where I was shocked to learn that Harry's clarifications were not to be included, or even mentionned). I seem to recollect that at least some of the clarifications in Raw were directly due to Chris Marrinacci's input from programing CWiF.

Marc aka Caran... up to Raw 6 or so, which must be 2 or more version bellow the current state[:)]

[:)] I have RaW-7M.rtf (rtf = rich text file). [:)]

From what I have looked at it is a much cleaner version than the RaW-6 version. It looks like it even has places for examples of the rules.
