A huge British archive of World War II aerial reconnaissance photos, including pictures of the D-Day landings in Normandy, is to go on the Internet. Under the digitalization project, some 5 million Royal Air Force photos of Western Europe will be available to the public on the Web site
http://www.evidenceincamera.co.uk. The site is not up yet but should be going online in the next couple of days with a target date of tomorrow, Monday, January 19th.
In addition, The Aerial Reconnaissance Archives, known as TARA, expects later to release of 2.5 million Luftwaffe German air force reconnaissance photographs of Eastern Europe seized by the Allies at the end of the war.
This is from Double Deuce's Campaign site.

Unfortunately that site isn't up yet; here's the info they currently have posted there:
The searchable catalogue will be launched in the future at a time when we can more accurately predict sustainable levels of demand and install appropriately sized hardware and software to fulfil this. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Now I'm confused.
"This week"? The battle for Stalingrad raged from August -42 to February -43.
At this time in 1942 the Wehrmacht were still gearing up for the push on Kharkov, and in 1943 they were fighting to close the gap after 6th Army. The fight for the grain elevator was in September 1942.
