This is my first insertion in this forum, even tho I've been reading it for some time and enjoying and learning from all msgs. In the past I've contacted Wild Bill on Email with my problems, which he rectified promply. I cannot drink enough toasts or tip my hat enough to thank Wild Bill for his help. (How did he find the time). The age average is about to be nudged up a bit. I am 61 years old and still run in the woods. I use to be an old SPI fan and was a lover of the large battles they put out. I am still throwing papers showing my logistis away from Campaign in North Africa. That is when I really needed a computer. I started out with a game called Tratics (or Tactics). It was a few years back. First computer wargame was EastFront. Steel Panthers came out and I was hooked on that type system. Enjoyed EastFront but grew tired of system. As info, that first Eastfront game was the one by Gary Grigsby and was played on an old Atari off an old floppy. Thanks to Matrix and their staff for all the enjoyment that they have given me . Matrix has my support. My compliments to all of you wargamers out there. You folks are the most unselfish and frendliest fanatics I've ever had the honor to associate with. Dont tell my wife.

I don't know what the average age of your typical SPWAW'er might be, but I've noticed that the maturity level of forum posters is much higher than other forums I frequent.

I'm 40, by the way.

p.s. Thank you, David(and Wild Bill), for making me feel soooo much younger.

46, soon to be 47. Married, 3 daughters and 1 soon to be son-in-law.
First computer wargame was The Perfect General around '94, but soon after found SP1 and have been playing SP's various versions every since.

hehehe, Why you young pups, if you want old try 69, bought my first computer 4 years ago, and a copy of Silent Hunter,the Pg II, and SP III....still play all three plus I find time for SPw@w...Any one older, I'll yield to....need linement for my fingers after that post.....

Well .. i'm 34, married once, cohabited twice, one children each time (third one will born on July) and first wargame i played was (chess, yeah, i enjoyed it playing against my father!) Tobruk by Avalon Hill (not sure).

You're not the only one who was an SPI fan, have you noticed Jim Dunnigan is a commander in the US OOB.

Tactics and Tactics II were board wargames, Tractics was a set of miniatures rules put out by TSR (yes the Dungeons and Dragons people). Tractics had hit probabilities for shells hitting viewing ports on tanks.

I'm 31 and married. Never played any real board wargames (do Risk and Stratego count? ), but started on my PC addiction with SP1. Then SP2. TOAW, AOR, WF, and now SPWAW.

Oh, I forgot. I actually started with Panzer General on the 3DO system ~1994.

I'm 39, married nearly 18 years now to a very understanding woman. Calls herself Computer Widow. I scared her one night while I was upstairs playing Pacific War. Let out a blood-curdling scream. She comes flying upstairs thinking I may have hurt myself by falling and breaking a limb, shouting "whats wrong?" Arrrrrrgh, I reply, "The Japs just sank one of my carriers!!!!!!" She's used to it now, but still doesn't understand how I can "get so excited over a game."

Started at 13 years old with AH boardgame Panzerblitz, then Third Reich, Luftwaffe, etc. First computer wargame was Gary Grigsby's Second Front. But baby, my life didn't begin until I found Steel Panthers!!

im 39........Risk started it for me as far as first wargame on comp it was empire deluxe.......then PG......wow i thought i was in pig heaven. Years later look at what we have ........moving tanks around with gun sounds and not knowing what the other side has ...its great.......aways looking for the next ver.

I'm 37, been wargaming since I was 11, first Computer wargame was M1 Tank Platoon on the Amiga (I think). SPWaW is the closest I have come to the enjoyment of face to face wargaming in years.

31. 2 kids. I play Counter Strike on line and SP:W@W when I'm not.

I get new games on a regular basis, but always end up playing SP:W@W again and again and again.....

30, married, no kids yet. When not playing SPWAW I play Wir.

Hi aged 36 married 2 children and started wargameing with 1/300th scale minitures.Then played all sorts of wargames on an Amiga.
Now the only game I play is SPWAW.

I was born on 20th of june 1984 so I´m a bit younger than you....

I'm 30 year young.
