Question on Crimson Snow Scen

I'm currently playing this scenario and i'm wondering does this take place in the Korsun Pocket? if not where does it exactly take place? i went goggle and search around for Gruppe Stemmerman without too much result except i know that there was a REAL Gen. Stemmerman around Army Group South
