My linear campaign.

Heck, this is the best place to post it - a few days ago I started working on my own linear campaign, and I've got a few others helping playtest the missions ect - one person doing all the writing - others just giving ideas.

Anyway, whenever I update the files on the link I'm about to give I just overwrite the old. Mission2 is still a WIP, so ideas and help with scripted events would be most appreciated... mostly I have to try and get it so that ships on different paths meet at a certain point for difficulty reasons.

All the files will be uploaded here. <--- link

Currently there's Mission1 (nearly finished - gameplay-wise I think it's done), the Universe Template (which I had to take some things away when I actually implimented it into mission 2 - though I can use it when an attack on the Admiralty occurs - just go check out Janek with a fighter or something [:D]), and Mission2, which is very much a WIP. All the writing is going to be replaced, and I need to keep the basic idea of the level without so much difficulty.

Tell me what you guys think! [:)]

Loved it, played the first scenario last night :-) I beat the opposition, but my frigate was rather battered afterwards. Keep em coming !

heh, thanks. :) Did it work right? (The "Fire in the Night" should've jumped out of the system after being damaged a bit) Anyway, did you try out mission 2 of what's there so far? I haven't worked on it this week, been too busy. :/ I should get back to it soon though.

Yep, the Fire in the Night jumped. First time I played it the ship jumped after I hit it a few times, second time it jumped without getting shot at, as I targeted the others first.

The second scenario kind of difficult. Note that I'm not very experienced. First time, I managed to almost kill the FITN, buit collided with it before. Tsk. I was trying to control the ship with FCLS turned off... (btw, it's annoying that there's drag on the ship while flee-flying it). Second and third timea around, the FITN killed me extremely fast. Dunno why the firepower from the FITN was suddenly so overwhelming compared to the first time. Fourth try, I succeeded :-)

I really would like more scenarios like yours focused on cap ship battles. I have done enough small fighter stuff in Freespace etc. ;-)

Hmm, either your point defense guns shot it on their own, or it took some damage from something else, cause I don't have any other jump triggers in there.... either way it doesn't really matter, as long as it jums out. [;)]

Yeah, I'm trying to adjust the difficulty on it. So are you meeting up with the FITN between navpoints 4 and 5? (That's where you should....) Of course, did you notice the Asher that comes in? ;) The point is to kill the FITN, then jump out before the Entropy (Asher) causes too much damage for you to jump - I did that in the first mission cause I didn't want the player leaving the system (jumping in mission 1 makes you explode), so to be consistant, I had to at least have it so that jumping causes some significant damage, so you have to jump before you have less than 30% hull. Anyway, I want the timing on when you meet up with the Fire in the Night to be different, so that the Entropy doesn't come til later to make it a bit easier.

Well, like I said, we're probably going to make this strictly a capital ship campaign. [;)] BTW, did you check out the "Universe template" to see what your.. HQ has for defenses? [:D]
