Browsing through the German OOB I dont see a single one of these rifles. I have seen pictures of them being used in 1944 Holland. Am I just missing them or is there a reason they were not included in the game?

It's usul to see them in the shot em world but it wasn't very usual in real-life [:D]

Jokes apart, I doubt they were present in any unit involved in the op market garden.

Considering the MP 43 begain production in late 43 and that more than 10,000 of it's predescessores (MKb42(h) and MKb42(w) ), were produced priour to this, I woulde find it hard to beleave that their were non in service during the Campagine in Holand, espichaly with the Elite units.

It's probable. But we don't know to what extend.

The TOEs for the various units are not specific on what sub-machinegun (as the MP44 was going to be produced as a substitute of the MP40) were using these units. But considering that
most of the new equipment was heading to eastern front, and that units on the western front were equipped even with french equipment, and the units in Op M-G were remanants and very weakened units not yet refitted. I finnd difficult that MP-44 were present in any significative number to be included in any TOE.

Take into account that you can't change TOE for each unit, as you have to use these present in the estabs.

If anyone has a good source for which units received these weapons, when, and in what quantities, could you post it here? I've been unable to find anything specific enough to be useful on this weapon.

Thanks

According to this site and 'Weapons of the Waffen SS' by Bruce Quarrie the MP44 was little more than an MP43 with 'a slightly lighter and more thinly walled receiver' (whatever that means).

The receiver is the body of the weapon, which houses the working parts such as bolt or slide.

Sorry I couldnt be more specific
I just remeber browsing through a general reference of Market Garden and seeing SS troopers walking along 'hells highway' and a few had MP44's slung across their shoulders. The caption said it was September 1944 in Holland.
That doesnt exactly mean a whole lot. I have seen the same picture with differing captions in the past.

That's usually the case. The same thing applies in the Ardennes, where the weapon would have been more common (same deal for the FG42) - you know it was in use, because there are photos, but the only numbers available are overall production figures which aren't useful at this scale.
