April 1941 Desert

Its hot here in the desert already this time of year. My company has been ordered to set up a defensive line. We are to hold at all costs against the British advance. If we hold here our troops will be able to get ready for a major offensive. Maybe the war will be over this year.
I set up the line running north to south in front of 3 hills with a good line of sight. The visability is good today almost 50 hexes. We should see the enemy from a long distance. Our long range guns should tear holes in there lines before they even reach ours. The enemy was sighted just before noon. The big guns opened up 15 mins later.
They have got a mass of tanks with good infantry support. I decided to hold fire with our tanks till they get closer. Opened up with all my tanks about 25 minutes into the fight. Caught a lot of there tanks in the open. Destroyed at least 25 tanks in the first exchange. Lost 2 sigs 150 and a half track.About this time our 150s cut loose on there inf. It was as if the gates of hell had opened. Glad we werent under it.
They have not reached our mine field yet. Commander Karl Roberk.
A side note: Captain Vokers on my left flank showed excellent courage. Against maybe 15 tanks and a Co. of men he held the flank. Inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. I recommend him for the Iron Cross Sir.
