How does one farcast between galaxies please?

umm... you don't?

you can farcast between systems if you set it up manually, but farcasting between 'galaxies'? why?

Well for a number of reasons. I wanted to make a mission were you could fly from janus to ostara through enemy patrols and blockaded farcasters to reach a battle too late... I may have been unclear in my first post but my farcasters work between sectors.

Umm. Ive got to run, now, but it isn't something you can do with the ingame mission editor. You have to add the other system to the mission manually. And then there's stuff you can do. Check mehrune's site, it's linked in several threads in this forum.
